Dr. Ketan Kimmatkar is an Associate Professor at IDEAS and a distinguished Landscape Architect with over 20 years of experience in both academia and professional practice. A postgraduate in Landscape Architecture from CEPT University, Ahmedabad, he holds a doctoral degree focused on the Application of Landscape Principles for the Development of Green Biomass Utilizing Treated Effluents.

His areas of expertise include Architectural Design, Landscape and Site Planning, Construction, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Ecology, and Phytoremediation. A firm believer in a process-oriented approach to design, Dr. Kimmatkar integrates research-driven thinking into both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

He actively mentors students for national and international competitions and has guided participants in the prestigious Sir Norman Foster Travel Scholarship for four consecutive years. His academic contributions extend to research publications in ecological restoration, reclamation of degraded landscapes, and the role of vegetation in environmental mitigation.

Recognized as a subject expert in EIA and ecological planning, Dr. Kimmatkar brings a strong research foundation, field experience, and a passion for nurturing future architects through a hands-on, inquiry-led learning environment.
