Design is not just about aesthetics — it is about questioning the world, rethinking systems, and imagining better futures. The Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program at IDEAS empowers young creatives to think critically, work hands-on, and build with empathy.
Rooted in a multidisciplinary approach, the program prepares students for evolving design challenges across domains — from product and communication design to spatial and digital experiences. At IDEAS, design is a tool for impact, agency, and transformation.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Candidates must be Indian Nationals and should have passed the 10+2 examination with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% for Reserved categories, EWS & PwD from Maharashtra) and obtained a non-zero score in the MAH B.Design CET conducted by the Competent Authority.
Children of NRI/OCI/PIO, Children of Indian Workers in Gulf countries, and Foreign Nationals must have passed the 10+2 examination and fulfill additional criteria as declared by the relevant authority from time to time.
There is no age limit for appearing in the MAH B.Design CET 2025.SCHOLARSHIPS
IDEAS encourages aspiring designers from diverse backgrounds. Limited scholarships are available based on academic merit, creative aptitude, and financial need. Candidates are required to submit relevant documents and portfolios for evaluation.
INSTRUCTIONS
Admission is granted based on CET performance and eligibility compliance. Shortlisted students must attend portfolio reviews, interviews, and counseling sessions as per the institute’s schedule. Admission is confirmed only after document verification and fee payment.
FEE STRUCTURE
The fee is governed by regulatory norms and includes tuition fees, development charges, and institutional facilities. Details are available at the admissions office or on the IDEAS website.
KNOW YOUR FACULTY
The design faculty at IDEAS comprises interdisciplinary experts from product, visual communication, spatial, and UX/UI design backgrounds. The team includes full-time mentors and visiting faculty from reputed design institutes and professional practices, enabling students to learn through real-world engagement.
CURRICULUM
The four-year B.Des program is crafted to develop critical, contextual, and future-oriented design thinkers. The curriculum spans foundation design, systems thinking, storytelling, material exploration, design research, and prototyping. Emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary collaboration, local-global design contexts, and professional readiness through internships and capstone projects.
