Mr. Chandrashekhar M. Tandekar is an accomplished visual artist and academician with extensive expertise in fine arts and art education. He holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree from RTMNU, Nagpur (2014), a Diploma in Art Education from Raje Tejsinghrao Bhosale Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya, Amravati (2012), a G.D. Art (Painting) qualification (2009), and an A.T.D. from Sharad Pawar Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur (2004). At IDEAS, he contributes significantly to the visual arts curriculum, where he teaches various subjects that help architecture students develop a refined understanding of form, aesthetics, and visual communication.
Mr. Tandekar’s work has received national and international recognition. His artistic practice includes participation in several prestigious platforms such as the International Print Exchange Programs in Turkey, Brazil, and Romania. He has also been featured in events like the International Art Mart at Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, and the International Kala-Mela at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi. His artistic achievements include a selection at the 59th National Exhibition of Art in New Delhi, a fellowship at Sharad Pawar Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya, and multiple awards from institutions including SCZCC Nagpur and regional art forums in Ujjain and Nagpur.
In addition to solo recognitions, Mr. Tandekar has participated in numerous curated group exhibitions. These include ‘Swachand’, ‘The Mods Say’, ‘Chhap-Khana’ (a printmaking exhibition), ‘Artology’ at Jawaharlal Darda Art Gallery, Nagpur; ‘Untitled’ at CISFA ki Choti Art Gallery, Nagpur; ‘Mind Fusion’ at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai; ‘Hibiscus. Art’ at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Vadodara; ‘Rupabh’ at Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal; and shows by ‘Maya Art Group’ and ‘Saptak’ at Rabindranath Tagore Art Gallery, Nagpur.
His diverse experience in practice, exhibitions, and pedagogy brings a distinctive richness to the learning environment at IDEAS. Mr. Tandekar’s presence as a faculty member not only strengthens the institution’s artistic foundation but also plays a pivotal role in cultivating aesthetic sensitivity, critical thinking, and creative exploration among students in the field of architecture.
